Axi Financial is undoubtedly the least functional and effective organisation I have ever worked in.
The company is formed of different factions each operated by a different executive, frequently with conflicting priorities.
They uniformly.demonstrate a lack of interest in their own product, and are genuinely unable to come up with unique or original ideas. All of their product development is based on derivation of ideas that their competitors have implemented.
The workdays are bureaucratic, and usually very meeting heavy. 6-8 hours of meetings per day are not uncommon, many of them with a tiny number of active contributors and many passive observers.
The engineering department is demoralized to the point that they have entirely given up on code quality. Good foundations that were set in place many years ago are being slowly but consistently eroded by years of neglect, and there is no appetite for improving this, it is an active decision to prioritize anything that can be considered a revenue stream over improving their own product.
They are clearly aiming to sell this business as soon as they can, so I imagine that standards will continue to drop, and working hours will increase further.
There are a few good staff, the principal engineer is very capable, but most of the good talent left long ago.
Do not take a role here, the work is boring, the hours are long, and the management are deeply unpleasant.
