If you are very self-directed and able to jump in to new situations, you will find Avid to be a terrifically exciting and rewarding place to work! Anyone will bend over backwards to help you, but you have to be willing to speak up and ask for help.

Avid managers are "working managers", meaning they carry a full scientific or operational load with management duties layered on top. If you need a lot of hands on management, you may struggle at Avid because we are so lean and managers simply do not have capacity to spend time in some of the traditional management/coaching duties. If you are very self-directed and able to think independently, you will fit in well. You won't get a thorough "onboarding" or training to do your job - you will be expected to jump in and perform right away. That is exciting to some; intimidating to others.
