Pros

Autodesk is doing well on innovative front and has a great benefits package! Office facilities are good and general environment is friendly.

Kontras

There is a significant hidden bias against Bharatiya people in IT. 33% of the full-timers in IT (a.k.a EIS) are from Bharat. Full-timers are treated very poorly for management opportunities, promotions, general rewards, bonus and stock grants. There is not even one Bharatiya in top IT management and only one in next layer out of fifteen people. Overall, IT department is under-performing in Autodesk as it is significantly led by non-technical leaders (some are openly referred to as B***t kings internally). This is leading to much fewer opportunities for growth which are also not being given on merit.

I'm sorry that this has been how you’ve experienced working at Autodesk. While difficult to hear, I want to thank you for feedback. It's important for us to be aware of experiences like yours. Autodesk has a 3rd party service in place that you can use to talk about workplace issues and provide feedback anonymously (855-822-9535). Another option would be to contact your HR business partner. I have passed along this review to the appropriate HR leadership.

Pros

The individual contributors, your peers you work with day in and day out are fantastic people! At the IC level, for the most part, it feels like everyone is in the fight together. The work/life balance is good depending on which business unit/team you're aligned with. The benefits are pretty solid, especially the 6 week sabbatical.

Kontras

Autodesk moves at the pace of a snail, very slow to take action on anything. Selling is very difficult with all the undocumented approvals, processes, red tape and very few people are willing to actually help! Leadership doesn't care about the people their decisions impact. Feedback is rarely listened to and acted upon. Pay is terrible compared to competitors in this space. Autodesk has embraced a ton of change over the last few years with new marketing, sales and IT leadership and it shows. They are not shy in showing their desire to be the next Oracle at the expense of their people. They are constantly changing tools, processes, people, roles, you name it so you feel like you're under water constantly. Lipstick on a pig.
