Few so called managers will complain for your timing in order to get there increment as they earn by complaining only xD
If you are non IITian, you won't earn respect,upraisel is a different issue and still you will be compared to IITian's for work as we all do same kind of work at different salaries.
So, if you are a General Candidate and failed by few marks to enter IIT's/NIT's you can learn lot of good stuff and go for further studies abroad.
lastly, little Politics and delay in salary sometimes.
