Pros

Because of my experience and willingness to work I rose to a good level in the company. I Enjoyed travelling to different countries on the companies expense (for CLIL project).

Kontras

There wasn't any more progression in the company in terms of salary or promotions. The most obvious move would have been to make me (or at least someone) assistant director but they never made the job available. I think t here were 3 DOS's while I was there. It made things a bit chaotic.

Pros

My colleagues who I worked closely with were great to work with, lovely and very hardworking. Nice building, central location. Overall friendly atmosphere in the workplace. Flexitime option too which is great.

Kontras

I think the company takes complete advantage of great employees (both admin staff and teachers), works them to the max, and offers a very limited salary in return. There is zero job stability in this company, I was a permanent staff member who had to interview to keep my job! When I refused to interview (as they were merging 2 roles for basically the same amount of money, meaning double the work for little pay) they made me redundant. I don’t think a permanent staff member who has successfully passed their probation should be let go so easily. It is completely unfair. Teachers also have little job stability and the turnover of teachers is very high. It is also very difficult to get a pay rise in the company, my colleague was trying for many months.

Pros

The students were mostly pleasant and wanted to learn. The other teachers were good coworkers.

Kontras

This school is run fully for profit, it can barely be called a school. Teachers are moved between levels too quickly to get to know their student's strengths/weaknesses. If a student asks to be moved up to a higher level class, they are often allowed to, even if they're not actually that level of English, leading to a huge imbalance in class ability. Management will sign you on a temporary contract with only 15hrs of teaching guaranteed. Your hours may be cut without warning, which often happened, so you'd make very little money in the week. Managers promoted underqualified people who had very little experience/education to managerial roles. People were let go with absolutely no warning. The low pay wasn't worth having to make your own lessons from scratch. High staff turnover, Management don't seem to care about the teachers at all.
