Pros
When I interviewed at Athena, I was very impressed with the atmosphere that was presented; a family-run business with growth potential and an overall mission of supplying a time-tested case management platform for the betterment of service to marginalised people. I was excited to come to the company and felt right at home as soon as I walked through the door. Much like my own family, this company has problem siblings, but no one seems to feel the need to address their bad behaviour. The company provides a catered lunch on Thursdays, and this is great. Input is sought and meals are provided with all dietary needs accommodated. To further bring that family vibe to it, this is accompanied by a constant reminder of how expensive the catered lunches are and how staff don't seem to appreciate it.

Enjoy a good challenge? This is the place for you. If your first few weeks are anything like mine, you'll experience: Wide open spaces with people yelling on conference calls while simultaneously shushing you for talking anywhere near them Public criticism of peers, the likes of which would make even Gordon Ramsay uncomfortable Teams refusing to take responsibility and instead pointing fingers at other teams. Since the finger-pointing includes swearing and yelling, it must be true, right? Senior management which deflects from its own ineptitude by providing harsh criticism of everyone not in the room at the time Senior management which seems incapable of providing clear or consistent direction but validates its existence by indicating how awful you and your management team are for having followed its previous direction.
