      Pros

      Astera has a great, great product in a growing (but crowded) field with some of the best technologists I have worked with (and that's a lot). The work environment is very flexible and there is a team approach.

      One drawback of the team approach is that most of the team is highly technical. When discussing non-technical initiatives, and you need those to be a successful software company, it can be challenging to be the only non-technical voice. While there is a lot of respect among colleagues as another reviewer stated, it is largely the technical for the technical. Lack of outside investment & bootstrap culture is both an asset and a challenge- much of competition is much more funded, and can therefore outspend to gain attention. If you're the best and no one knows, it's not a win.

      Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback. Being a software company, we have a higher ratio of technical employees as compared to non-technical employees. However, as a part of learning and development initiatives, we are now providing specialized training to the non-technical staff as well to keep them up-to-date about our products and technologies. In addition, we have conducted training on domain-specific skill-building, communication, and leadership across the organization. We encourage and promote an inclusive environment where everyone's voice is heard, and members are free to share their ideas. We keep on improving our practices and procedures, and your suggestions help us in doing that!
