Pros

Fair stable industry as Applied is one of the major vendor for insurance technology products. Provide option to select windows/Mac to suit your preference.

Kontras

Very sub-par PTO allowance. Starting vacation days allowance is only 10. Sick time is about 6 days a year. Constant changes in priorities, directions by senior management/executives. Sometimes people question how/why decisions were made in a way that simply makes no sense. Constant policy/red tape changes, which can lead you to fight/get through those rather than actually working on the things you love. Silent lay offs - even CEO mentioned many many times that we are doing well financially and we are secure, we can always rely on this company to be safe. It’s simply not true. Silent layoffs are happening all over the place. One morning you are talking to a colleague or someone above you, next hour they are gone. People are scared of who will be next. Most of the time there’s no announcement on why positions are eliminated or who’s eliminated, it’s really up to people to find out on their own through side convos or gossip. It’s also sad to see that company is layoff employees have been with the company for a long time, and then company just wanted to hire new blood.

Pros

The teammates that I worked with were generally really great. Decent opportunity for learning

Kontras

The benefits were not great, 3 year vesting to get a 401k match, insurance was sub par, time off was below average. In addition to this the management team is having a lot of turnover along with getting rid of people systematically (or what feels targeted). This is following some acquisitions that could have been great but because the teams are all operating in silos with what feels like no cohesive direction from the senior leadership. The products that are being sold are very old feeling/looking with no real changes on the horizon. Pair this with high level executive leadership changes that are pointing to a potential sale of the company which likely will come with more changes and loss of employment.
