You say your expected salary then you are called for interview and if selected they will say you that you are selected please resign from your current company and give details. After giving the details and resignation proof of the current company they come to you shamelessly offering negligible hike and say we cant provide more. Then why did they ask you the expected salary or why did they ask you to resign the company before negotiating the salary.
