Of all the good things this startup has going for it, "fun" is the best to me. In my 3 years of working here, there have been few days I consider "work" (That I did not want to be there doing the task that I was doing)
While I could make a higher salary elsewhere, I would not have the same quality of life, career outlook, or the impact to the company and ultimately the world. As a startup where every person is important to the team, there are times that we have to work outside normal hours. Senior management shares my viewpoint that this time should be given back when able.
This company is not afraid of rapid improvement and change. Change is necessary but can be difficult for some people to respond to. Communicating the why helps with the transition
