Pros
As a contractor with the Army, the work is extremely interesting and the deadlines are very lax, especially for a programming job. Great work/life balance - you are on the 9/80 schedule, which means every other Friday off. It's a small company with a familial feel, which means everyone in the front office knows and truly cares about you.
Kontras
General downsides to being a government contractor - benefits aren't as good as civilians, and there are limits on what you have the permission to do. Pay is below average. Can sometimes be a disconnect between your responsibilities and what the management perceives you as doing.
