Pros

The people here are, hands down, the best and brightest people I have worked with. Although the company is small and things change fast, the politics are minimal, I get every other Friday off, I get a week off between Christmas and new year, and I get to be a part of an effort that at its heart is well-meaning although not always well-defined.

Kontras

The leadership team is evolving from a small start-up focus to mid-size company focus. The result is accountability can be better. Transparency can be better, and communication can be better. It sounds like they are trying to make change happen based on an all-hands meeting on 08/20/20. It will be interesting to see what actions follow. The only other con is that I feel that some employees, although good people, just have a negative response to anything that the company tries to do to help.

The team is full of genuinely great people who care deeply about the product and work extremely hard. Strong belief in the mission among many employees.

Management often adopts a top‑down, dismissive approach that discourages collaboration and input from subject‑matter experts. Compensation feels uncertain at times; vendor invoices reportedly go unpaid, raising concerns about financial stability and continuity of operations. Product testing and safety validation are inconsistent or insufficient, with items being shipped without thorough evaluation. Leadership frequently downplays legitimate concerns, and decision‑making tends to favor a small inner circle. There is a noticeable double standard in expectations: some employees are allowed to “work from home” with extremely slow response times, and management appears comfortable with this inconsistency.
