Pros

As said by many others - great products, well known brand, seen as a great company to work for. Good size (between 6000-7000 employees) - big enough to be a 'proper company' but small enough that individuals can make a difference. Hiring policy is generally to aim high in terms of candidate quality and experience, and pay accordingly. Therefore people are usually paid well on joining for their role & level. The company is generally very amenable to internal progression and there are a large number of very loyal long-serving employees around the place!

Kontras

The downside of hiring at the top end is that there are a lot of clever, highly experienced individuals with limited opportunities for progression, due to a relatively flat org structure and small span of control for people managers. This can lead to frustration when people are looking for their next career move and it sometimes seems that the only opportunities to progress are outside the UK (typically US roles) or outside the company. As mentioned before, Adobe is still working hard to establish itself as an Enterprise vendor and therefore customer perception is often still 'just a Desktop company'.

Pros

- Awesome culture. I love going to work every day. People are really nice - exciting to be in the industry where a lot of innovation is happening - good work life balance - flexible RTO - two one-week shutdowns per year, unlimited PTO, global wellness days, great benefits

Kontras

- Leadership lost its way. Missed huge opportunities in markets served by Canva and GenAI. Took the wrong bet on commercially safe models, missing out on huge opportunities that were captured by competing GenAI models. No clear strategy or vision from management about how to get back in track. Our products are losing market share every day and management seems to be lime deer in headlights, unsure what to do - Watching stock price deflating nearly every day is disheartening - Decision making is very slow. Takes ages to get things approved. - C-suite is mostly over 50 and often seem out of touch with latest AI and tech trends. Uphill battle sometimes to get them to see urgent opportunities that need to be acted on immediately - Adobe failed to organically develop major products in the last 20 years. Major recent ones; Firefly and Express; have not been successful.
