I was told that the "senior" title (and commensurate salary) that I brought from my previous employer were not warranted by my responsibilities, so I was effectively frozen at that salary until some unspecified point in the future. Rather than make use of my 15+ years of experience in the industry they clearly saw me as an expensive and expendable holdover.
