Pros
Everyone was nice and I actually enjoyed the job. Might not have been exactly a technical support job as I was initially told. But everyone was just so great that I wanted to stay anyways. Unfortunately, I lost my job due to poor attendance which mainly boiled down to constantly having appointments for doctors and dentists, including an emergency dental visit for two infected wisdom teeth. I probably should have told them on that day I was in extreme pain and had to go and get those extracted or I would have been on the floor curled into a ball due to the sheer amount of pain I was in. On my very last day I just couldn't come in because I was sick and thought it would have been considerate to not risk getting coworkers sick and just be dead weight because I was just too far out of it to even properly focus.
Looking back, I'm wondering if should I have taken that risk as maybe I would still have my job today. I still don't know what was the correct action to take. While I felt it may have been slightly unfair, I understand the need for more reliable workers. But I can't understand being told your health is essential. While at the same time, losing your job because of things relating to your health, and while I understand the constant doctor and dental appointments are bothersome. I will rather be safe than sorry when it's related to potentially having something that would result in me not living to see my 40s (Thankfully that was not the case and the tests I've taken relating to the doctors have shown normal results. The situation with my dentists was basically two infected wisdom teeth that had to be emergency extracted because the pain was so unbearable that I barely got 5 hours of sleep over the course of a week.) Perhaps I should have been more open about that when talking to the managers and HR. But I just had a fear that I was giving far too much information that would deem the conversation to be uncomfortable.
Anyways, before this becomes extremely long. The managers were helpful, Casey was a blast to talk to and she was understanding when I expressed my concerns about my appointments. It was nice to talk to so actually cared about the issues you were having. The job is laid back but they have expressed that it can get hectic. They will teach you all that you need to know to understand the task that needs to be done. The coworkers were an absolute blast to talk to, it's nice to talk to people who are passionate about technology like I am and I already miss them. It was nice to play the game at the end of your shift on Friday and it was cool to listen to a story about a certain point in time in history on the date that you're working. Just an absolute pleasure to work for.
Kontras
Absolutely no cons that I can think of. An absolute pleasure to work for and I do appreciate my brief time there.
