Pros
- The people who work in the store kept me going, with good humour even in bad circumstances. - Very good manager who had the give and take mentality which is not often seen nowadays, very flexible. - Very good experienced team working with me, kept me going even when I was doomed and gloomed on the place. - Learned a lot from experienced colleagues which have helped me in my new job. - Developed my management style within ASDA within their belief system, which is a very good system and catches all, even out of the retail sector.
Kontras
- Hours were cut often and more work was expected to be done with a smaller team. - Home shopping and checkouts often took most of your colleagues to support, due to their lack of hours, all while expecting you to achieve the same results with less people. - Very poor career progression available beyond Section Leader level since ASDA restructured with less management positions. - It isn't the same company I joined, which had the ideals placed on the worker, now a worker is just a number who is easily replaced. - Never received a proper thank you for a job well done, only ever off my manager never higher up. However, higher management were quick enough to criticise you and your team if something had been done wrong. - Higher management listened to issues you raised, but the problems never get resolved.
