Pros

ASCI is the first company I've worked for that, I feel, genuinely cares about their employees. There is a strong sense of family amongst my coworkers, built on trust in each other and management. I like the fact that as an Alaskan company ,with other assets, ASCI makes a strong effort to hire local. They as well make a strong effort to hire with in, this allows employees room for career growth. Management has always been honest and straight forward with employees.

Kontras

The only "cons" I can really think do not have much to do with ASCI. In the current economic situation that the oil industry finds it's self in Alaska and the world, there is a sense of uncertainty about the future. This is no reflection on ASCI thou.

Pros

Good pay, family oriented, excellent atmosphere.

Kontras

As with any company, job security depends on length of contract you’re working in. They do a good job of trying to retain their employees.

Pros

The people. I have never worked for a company that treated it's employees as well as ASCI does, and they should - the people here are incredible. They definitely sell the "family environment" and such but I have found that to be an accurate assessment time and time again. Most companies say they are this way, but few actually are. When times are tough (like they are now), the company is transparent and fair. Rather than simply do layoffs when oil is $26 a barrel, ASCI has made some tough calls to avoid that... and that builds trust. To me, that is worth the lower wages. It's hard to find a company where you feel like the CEO on down actually care about the employees, and I personally feel like I have found that here. Management also tends not to make knee-jerk reactions (which is nice).

Kontras

Higher wages can be found elsewhere (it's a trade off for the environment, IMO). Benefits are a little on the expensive side, but they are fairly easy to customize for individual situations so you only pay for what you need. My guess would be that if oil prices went up, this would get better.
