Pros
I worked across various roles in the Arts Team at ARTIQ, progressing in experience, responsibilities, and confidence during my time there. It was a fast-paced environment, with an all-hands-on-deck mentality at times, but that is what made it such a thrilling place to work - encouraging a nimble, flexible, reactive approach that was ahead of its time (and which others arts businesses are now seeking to replicate). I had close working relationships with almost every employee, and felt that our wellbeing was always a priority - and that hard work was always rewarded. I have since returned to the company on an occasional freelance basis, and have maintained good personal and professional relationships with many of my former colleagues (including Senior Management).
Kontras
At times, the environment could be fast-paced and the workload demanding but this is simply the nature of the art world; having worked in commercial galleries, auction houses, museums, and as an art advisor with my own clients, I never found the pace to be unrealistic or unusual. More importantly, I always felt supported and that others were willing to assist in order to get projects over the line in time for a client.
