Pros
I have always felt empowered to live into my strengths and run with my ideas. Because the staff is almost entirely all women, there's a real supportive and encouraging culture, especially for new moms! Humility and authenticity are demonstrated in the leadership and the same values are expected from the entire team. With a greater mission as our common goal, there's a spirit of collaboration and less pressure to carry projects or tasks alone. Oh -- and the staff discount on the amazing products doesn't hurt either :)
Kontras
Because ABLE is a fast growing brand, there have been some growing pains -- namely: figuring out the organizational structure / management team, and preventing burnout. COVID was tough on everyone, and created a bit of turnover in the organization, but I do think the team is stronger on the other side. And while ABLE is great at creating opportunities for women, there is definitely more work to do in diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially more hiring from BIPOC communities.
