At 8base, it is important for us to maintain a caring, positive and respectful culture, not only for our employees, but also our clients; and routinely prioritize client and employee well-being over profit. Despite being a small, privately-owned company, we strive to attract and keep talented individuals as members of the 8base team by offering competitive pay, equity share, robust benefits package and rich 401(k) match; and incentives including remote work, flexible hours, paid holidays and unlimited personal paid time off to ensure work/life balance is always maintained. That said, working at a startup is not for everyone. Being part of a small team means everyone is essential and expected to work hard, be agile and understand the direction we are headed and work in tandem to get there. At 8base we know we will succeed; but everyone must be a contributor to that success.

Pros

- Solid leadership - Great people on the team - Strong opportunity

Kontras

- Startups are very dynamic in terms of changing priorities - If you want to be in the office, its all remote - If you need a lot of oversight, go work for a big/older company

Pros

Honestly can't think of a single pro.

Kontras

This job was a train wreck from start to finish, and a total waste of time. The entire codebase is a rushed hacked-together mess full of unaddressed bugs and an architecture that can not grow. No one is willing to take problems seriously because they're all too busy trying to rush ahead to a "finish line", even if it means crossing that finished line with an unfinished and broken product. There's just no real effort being put in here. Low-code platforms are a dime a dozen. A new one pops out of the woodwork every day. They appear more often than JavaScript frameworks. They generate bad code and awful APIs then leave developers doing more work hacking around them to make it work than they would have to do building from scratch. This one is no different. This hackathon quality, unrefined product is more likely to fall into irrelevancy just like all the others.
