IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. As an important function of its mandate, IOM Co-leads the Global Shelter, Land and Site Coordination (SLSC) Cluster, an IASC coordination structure resulting from the merger of the Global Shelter and Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Clusters and the Housing, Land and Property (HLP) Area of Responsibility.
Building on previous engagement of the Global CCCM Cluster since the launch of the IASC Guidelines for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action (2019), and Cluster-lead agencies' commitments, IOM is now leading a global project aiming at developing Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs)' capacities in CCCM and other selected humanitarian areas of work to enhance their engagement in internal displacement contexts, as well as CCCM Cluster partners capacities for more inclusive approaches; and at supporting OPDs to become active site management partners through direct implementation of disability inclusive activities at site level.
