    Pros

    Great technology and such a great people-oriented company, directly from the top. A very clear, consistent and implemented GTM strategy.

    Kontras

    The company's growth plans are ambitious (yet achievable) and I suspect that this may cause some growing pains. I hope that this growth doesn't cause the company to lose it's focus on its people - the people focus is very much part of its DNA.

    Ich habe mich online beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 4 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im April 2019 bei Scandit (London, England (Vereinigtes Königreich)).

    Applied online, process took about 4 weeks from application.

    This is very difficult review to write from me as the internal recruiter were very pleasant to collaborate with. the phone screen was very pleasant and Matthew (internal recruiter) was one of the best recruiters i have had the pleasure of meeting and engaging with, to the point of where after the whole process i emailed the CEO, COO and CTO (also the founders of the company), something i have never done before.

    i then had a 1-1 via video conference with Hiring manager and another team member, all very pleasant so far. i then had a 1-1 video with their external counsel who provides all their legal services and this hire would have been their first in-house role.

    I understand why external legal counsel need to part of the recruitment process especially in a start-up company when there are no in-house legal professionals. I have used/currently use a large number of external firms, individuals for their specialist services so am aware of their processes and thinking.

    the disappointment for me in this solely falls on the fact that Scandit are a company that have become so reliant on external counsel that they fail to see crucial benefits of making a judgement on this recruitment. when your hiring the possible candidate that will replace that external counsel and take away work and crucial services from that external counsel, you can bet the feedback will always be negative from that external counsel. what's worse is that Scandit have given this external counsel ultimate decision on this recruitment, i understand they can advise on the negatives and positives but to allow them to veto and reject without the company making that decision is very disappointing.

    i would have really appreciated any feedback but was given none as the recruiter (not his fault at all) could not get any feedback apart from "its a no" from the external counsel even after the CEO stated in a response to me that he will get me feedback, which is very disappointing.

    i do wish the company well in their search for this role, but given my experience and the lack of feedback and the fact that the ultimate decision on this recruitment has fallen to the external counsel rather than the company, i have doubts. Scandit have a great product and just need someone who has the same passion for the product and passion to take this company forward in regards to legal, process, operations and compliance.

    I wish Matthew Katai all the best on his future endeavours and thank him for all his help and i wish Founders and the rest of the internal teams at Scandit a successful 2019 and beyond.
