    It’s a fast-paced environment, with amazing employees and opportunities to learn something new everyday. A rewarding job, where a love of helping people and working in science can be combined with project management skills.

    A busy environment which can sometimes become stressful if you don’t quickly learn how to prioritise tasks and ask for support from your team.

    Pros

    PH is an enjoyable place to work with close integration between numerous agencies. Because of this there are plenty of opportunities to work with varied people on a range of projects, even at a junior level. Despite it being a large organisation, the top management in the office (BUDs/GM) are very people focussed and generate a good spirit in the building.

    Kontras

    The main downside is that there are a lot of internal processes that can make it hard for the company to be reactive. Promotions are generally restricted to set time periods which can lead to a loss of talented an ambitious personnell at the lower levels. The internal training schemes are focussed on mid-management (AM) and up, thus showing some disregard for trying to nurture their own talent.

Career development, including promoting people in line with organisational needs and personal development plans, is a huge priority for us. Our efforts this year have made these activities simple and streamlined. You’ll be pleased to hear that we’ve also been taking steps to make our career planning and reward approach clear and transparent to everyone. Our benchmarking ensures we’re fair and highly competitive in the market. People Managers are meeting all their team members at the moment to discuss this on an individual basis, so if you haven’t yet had this discussion, you will have soon! On the development front, we have lots going on! Workshops, lunch and learns and online training for employees at all levels! If there is something in particular you feel that you’d like to develop, have a chat with your Manager so we can make sure we are continually developing you in line with your aspirations and role.     Pros

    The team make you feel like you're part of the family from day one. Everyone is very friendly, supportive, and most importantly, funny. There is always plenty of laughter about (in between all the hard work, of course). The company make you feel valued and important. They focus on improving your skills, ensuring that you get to work on projects that interest you, or attend training that you feel will benefit you.

    Kontras

    The long hours can be taxing, and you don't get paid overtime. Often resolving this comes down to just learning to manage your time better, and taking responsibility for your own hours. Unfortunately, projects are often urgent, and require you to work late, which is just par for the course in this career.
