    Pros

    Great people to work with. Most people want to go the extra mile to get the job done well. The office's open concept makes it a nice work atmosphere, and it is located near good restaurants and bars. Depending on the needs of the company and how well you manage your career, you could take on new and challenging opportunities that will help with your career growth. Bonuses can be very good if you're a good performer AND you haven't gotten on someone's s**t list.

    Salaries are generally on the lower end of market range. If promoted in some interim period, your responsibilities will change immediately but, as "per company policy", your salary is not adjusted until March of the following year (and you're not told exactly how much is the adjustment until such time). Insurance benefits are also not the best and the 401k match is 100% vested after your 3rd yr. of service. There is certainly favoritism, which could be very good or very bad depending on what end of the stick you manage to be in. The morale in some groups is low due to much restructuring and/or changes in departmental direction, the Finance function being one of them.

    Rat an das Management

    Restructuring and changes in departmental direction to help reduce costs is understandable, but once you've identified your top talent, be prepare to increase their comp, especially if they will be taking on more responsibilities. In the long run, you will continue to lose top talent and the time to fill those positions plus your talent acquisition costs will be higher than if you awarded top performers with an extra 10%-20% bump to their salaries.

    Very fast paced, will learn a lot

    Hard work goes unnoticed and never acknowledged - do not expect a pay increase or bonus for your efforts unless you play into the heavy office politics. If you are given a verbal or bonus target - it is a trick to get you into the door.

    This is not the place for you unless you have a stick up your bottom and do not care to have any type of work-life balance.

    HR is a disaster, new leaders do not have a say since those with more time at the company already paved their one-way road - Beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing!

    Great people in every department: from Traders to HR.
    Very skilled and (over)qualified people even in support roles.

    Kontras

    A few people compare to other competitor meaning a lot of work. A lot of restructuration and opaque hierarchy (can't really get who is the boss of who).

    Nice office, in a good location. Talented and friendly traders/analysts.

    Kontras

    Negative atmosphere, the company lacks direction and Europe has no leadership. There is only 1 decision maker in the firm who is afraid of the shareholders.
     Politics are horrible, too many fiefdoms and too many middle managers make decisions with the sole interest of retaining their jobs.

    Re-structure, cut out the middle managers or replace them with people who actually have experience trading and focus on growing revenues. The decision making needs to be delegated to desk heads, specifically remove the need to make 30-page ppt to justify every business decision. Operations and back office have too much influence in restricting business decisions (they only ever say no!).

    Pros

    Spent close to five years in CCI Shanghai office. Also traveled to Stamford, London, and Singapore office for business trip. I think this is a great place for agreesive, young professionals to grow if you are interested in the commodity trading and investment space. The Company has established a strong fundamental driven business framework and the management are 100% convinced. You can learn and grow tremendously if you are passionate and proactive.

    Senior Management should spend more time in Asia in particular China as it is the fastest growing market and it is unique in terms of market structure and many other aspects.
