Pros

Working as a Relief Centre Coordinator has been a valuable experience. The role provides exposure to multiple centres, which helps build adaptability, independence, and strong communication skills. Each day brings something new, making the job dynamic and engaging. Every centre team I have worked alongside are welcoming and collaborative, and the buildings themselves are modern, clean, and enjoyable to work in.

Kontras

Due to the nature of the relief role, there’s a lack of routine, and the structure can vary widely between locations, However this is what you sign up for. Some days may feel isolating, especially when covering unfamiliar sites. Expectations can be high even when minimal context is given, and while the role offers great learning opportunities, progression may require moving into a permanent position.

Pros

Some really lovely people such a small selection of people that genuinely care and are genuinely nice,

Kontras

I think the culture is forced, this place isn’t what it used to be, there is so much gloom and dread there now, like the light it once had has been stripped away, Workplace culture feels increasingly forced and inauthentic Morale has noticeably declined; the organisation no longer feels like it once did A pervasive sense of uncertainty and low motivation across teams Head of Learning & Development demonstrates poor people-management skills, including micromanagement, belittling people, even reducing people to tears No mental health support, or care Lack of psychological safety; staff often feel undermined rather than supported
