Pros
Great mission, great kids, lots of flexibility. In general a solid work environment. You'll be surrounded by people who genuinely care about youth development. You wear tons of hats, so you'll get experience dealing with a lot of different situations and systems. Great for people thinking about direct service careers. It's also one of the highest paying AmeriCorps positions in the country.
Kontras
Extremely high workload, burnout is common toward the end of your year of service. You really need to self-advocate to get formal support. A lot can depend on the your manager, and management is generally weak in my experience. You can be saddled with incompetent coworkers, because it's a fairly easy job to get, but most people are solid. Lots of internal promotion (granted, due to high turnover for management positions)
