Lower level staffs are energetic, passionate and young go-getters. Most jobs offer flexibility and lots of out of office time. Dynamic roles where no one follows a strict list of responsibilities.
Kontras
Leadership/management is not educated in NPO management and do not have professional experience to replace necessary education. Leadership/management is very emotional. Way too focused on what activities will bring in money instead of what activities will accomplish their mission. Very poor salaries and an expectation of all employees at their disposal 24/7.
