Pros
1. Some really amazing people, with interesting and diverse backgrounds. 2. The product has real added-value and addresses a huge potential market. 3. Autonomy and freedom in your work, with the possibility to really make a contribution. 4. Recognition for good work. 5. Full home office, much PTO, good work-life balance.
Kontras
1. (Very) poor people management. Mass layoffs have become a habit at this stage (5 in 3,5 years). No place for personal growth in this company. Zero investment in people, lots of "empty" promotions (title, no change of role or responsibilities), little opportunities to evolve to a different role. The management prefers hiring from the outside unqualified people, firing them after just a few months, and replacing them again with more people from the outside. 2. The collaboration between the customer facing teams and product/engineering is very difficult; more of a constant battle than a willingness to work together to solve problems. 3. (Top) management is absolutely overpaid and has insane advantages - like traveling around without a real business reason attached to it, while the rest of us are asked to perform budget cuts and limit travel.
