Pros

I love working at PLACE, the people here are truly incredible to work with. You can tell that you are genuinely cared about from your co-workers and leadership and an effort is always made to make you feel like a valued part of the team. The work is also enjoyable as it gives a multitude of opportunities to problem solve creatively and work with peers cross departmentally to come up with the best solutions for our customers and place partners. I feel like I have grown so much under this company, and it's given me the space to grow as a leader

Because PLACE is growing, it sometimes means that we are a very lead operating machine, which is sometimes constrictive of internal growth. Everything moves exceptionally fast except pay raises or Job growth, which drudges on. We are always focused on it, but any internal moves need to be approved by some higher ups that are often very busy. There are reasons for these things good and bad. I don't think these cons offset the incredible culture we have at our company.

Pros

PLACE is full of kind, driven, hardworking, and growth-minded people. Ideas are shared freely, collaboration is a daily habit, and I can't think of a single person who isn't always happy to help at a moment's notice. No matter where they fall in the organizational structure, I can feel comfortable reaching out to anyone and know that I'll be met with a kind and friendly response. While all startups offer daily learning opportunities simply by nature of being startups, what makes PLACE unique is the purposeful striving for learning, teaching, and growing, both personally and professionally. I don't just learn new information or processes - I learn new ways of thinking, doing, and being that no other workplace has ever taught me, which is one of my favorite things about this company and what keeps me engaged and excited.

Tools and processes are often pushed out with little to no notice to employees, so we're left scrambling to learn and operationalize while at the same time our partners are getting excited and wanting us to teach them about it. The interviewing and hiring process takes weeks. I appreciate the in-depth screening that we do, and it seems to have a high success rate of finding the right fit, but the lengthy process can be a turnoff to candidates. Bottlenecks occur regularly - even something like a promotion or pay raise has to be approved at the very top, which can take a very long time. Leaders are busy and seem to be spread very thin.
