Pros
I started as a Trainee Recruitment consultant around 15 months ago. I had prior experience in sales but no direct recruitment experience. Being here for 15 months now, I have settled in and truly found my feet and I know what recruitment really entails. -Navartis has a great training structure, teaching you all the ins and outs of recruitment. Lot's of support from managers and senior colleagues. -Very clear progression chart, you are told from the off what routes you can take at Navartis. Also you are told exactly what targets you must hit to get to these milestones. -Good incentives, days out, early finishes, baking days, raising money for charity, attending events -Good commission, it isn't capped and you take a good percentage of it -The people are great too, I have been very lucky to be put into the team I'm in. Very collaborative, helpful, kind and just overall they are nice people to work with and be around.
Kontras
The thing I have found most difficult with this role, is not truly knowing how your day can go in recruitment. However you will not know what recruitment is like until your in it... If you want to be in a job that is very mundane and you have your set jobs everyday that is always the same. Then recruitment is not for you. I have been here long enough to understand the lows and the highs of this job. The highs are absolutely fantastic, but you can have some really bad days too. Offers not going through, someone pulling out. You need to be extremely resilient with recruitment and not fall at the first hurdle. If you just give up at the first bad day then you will keep having bad days. It is truly just a job where you have to keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. You need to get comfortable being in uncomfortable situations and just throw yourself into the deep end. It is an extremely rewarding job but it can feel like clients and candidates are against you at times.
