Pros

The benefits package and offerings are still well above average compared to the vast majority of private aviation companies, for now. Company continues to pay and overpay many pilot positions as their recruiting team struggles to attract the best talent for many hard to fill positions. The sheer size of the company has helped attract and retain a small group of exceptional professionals in flying and non-flying positions. There are a handful of “unicorn” long term aircraft under Jet Linx management that have created final destination career level positions for a very small number of pilots scattered throughout the US.

After several years of underperforming in the charter market compared to competitors and incredible churn of the 100% managed aircraft fleet, the chickens have finally come home to roost as the private equity firms that now own a majority of Jet Linx have installed a shoot first, ask questions later, take no prisoners, slash and burn style CEO. While some of his intentions are good and needed to stop the bleeding and reign in the bloat, Jet Linx has become a tumultuous and untenable environment to work and manage in over the past year. Because of its sheer size, there is also a sizable group of long term employees, managers, and “leaders” who have cultivated their jobs and positions to protect themselves and are extremely resistant to change, new ideas, and willingness to adapt to the world around them. The dichotomy between that group and the new CEO has resulted in a fight for personal and professional survival instead of working towards a common goal of success. This dichotomy has irreparably damaged the once welcoming culture that was so appealing about Jet Linx in years past. Cultivated by years of indecision and inaction, the bureaucracy created at Jet Linx rivals that of some smaller cabinet level governmental departments. Almost every department, from HR and recruiting, flight operations, maintenance, and the ridiculous and confusing structure of Regional Base Presidents and Base Vice Presidents as well as Base and System Chief Pilots create the illusion of stability and prosperity, In actual practice, this has fostered an ineffective feedback and response loop for improving safety, standards, training, and overall business practices. It is truly impossible to get anything of substance done.
