Pros

The mission of helping single mothers, their children and being able to make an impact on their lives on a day-to-day basis. The pay was good.

Kontras

Please put your energy and time towards another company. The employees that are on the frontlines work so hard for the moms/kids and do an amazing job at supporting them. But it’s LEADERSHIP that’s the issue. The severe micromanaging, the multiple meetings a week talking about nonsense that doesn’t pertain to the different roles, the lack of genuine communication, accountability and support. The feeling of putting all of your work, care, time and energy into improving the departments projects and having to face the extreme pushback because your manager wants to always be in CONTROL. The constant need for feedback and can dish it very well, but unable to take it. I felt smothered, incompetent despite being in this field for 10 plus years and overall extremely burnt out and overwhelmed from the stress that I had to seek medical attention. If you don’t want to think for yourself and love being micromanaged, please work here.

Pros

Jeremiah Program is super mission-driven, and it shows in the passion of the staff. The team culture is supportive and collaborative, and the people you meet are genuinely amazing. Chastity, the CEO, is great. She’s warm and welcoming, even hugs you just to say hello and thank you without asking about your position and title. I have never had this experience with a CEO and it makes you feel seen. The work is really rewarding, and the kids are the absolute best part. Hearing their stories makes it worth it if you love this work. The community support is awesome as well.

Kontras

There are huge challenges with structure, communication, and workload balance. Processes aren’t always clear, which can make things inefficient depending on the team or department. Staff retention is talked about a lot, but follow-through is inconsistent. There’s also a communication gap between CST and onsite staff that hasn’t really changed over the years I've been here. The workload and pressure can be intense, and burnout is real—I honestly felt more burned out here than anywhere else I’ve worked. There are basically no professional growth opportunities, and it’s hard to see a long-term path within the company.
