Pros

Technically not a scam, probably.

Kontras

I should've known better when I got a response within hours of applying on Zip Recruiter. No matter what the job title and description tells you, it's a door-to-door sales job. They'll have keywords like "brand" and "marketing" and "PR" in the title and descriptions, but no, there's no actual marketing or advertising happening. It's all door-to-door. And they list the location as various places in the DC-Baltimore suburbs so they catch more applicants. They bring you in for an "interview", which is just the CEO trying to sell you on a multi-level sales scheme, instead of a phone screen, mostly so you're a captive audience and I'm guessing you have reliable transportation, which is essential for a door-to-door sales job.

Great team and Dom is a good leader. Flexible remote schedule.

Kontras

Expansion would be a good idea.

Pros

It's a small company, so you wear a lot of hats. You quickly gain a lot of professional skills that are transferable to other careers. Also, when I worked there, they offered decent benefits, and matched simple IRA contributions to a certain percentage.

Kontras

Nobody ever gets paid what they're worth. Boss is super cheap. For example, they laid off an unpaid intern, who was only reimbursed for commuting expenses. I, for one, worked 50+ hour work weeks and never got a salary raise. I made the same amount no matter how much I worked. The future of the company is built on the backs of college interns.
