Pros

I made a promise to myself after working here that I will never work again for a bad manager like I had FRBA. I promised myself to have a higher standard for my work environment.

Kontras

Please please DON’T work here. I don’t even know where to start this is by far the worst job I have ever had. The manager is a horrible boss she micromanagers everybody when she is there. However, most of the time she doesn’t even come to office, also she has no idea how to listen to anyone else’s ideas but her own. I guarantee you she has seen all the bad reviews on here and thinks it’s the employees’ fault, she has no idea how to take any responsibility for her behaviors or do any self-reflection. Also, the whole company is very suspicious because it is always unclear what your hours are and there is no accountability. Here is a fact for you there hasn’t been an employee who has worked there longer than a year! Do you know why? Its 100% because of the poor management, she doesn’t care at all about her employees. Also, there are no benefits and she doesn’t pay you correctly for the hours you work. If you see a positive review it’s the management trying to bring up their rating, do not believe it.

Pros

The community here is safe, fun, and always enjoyable. The BCBAs are helpful and insightful on each client’s needs. This kind of job is perfect for those with a heart to work with individuals with needs and who are willing to learn and exercise ABA. Moreover, student’s interested in psychology and who want to practice what they learn in class, this job is also a great place to start. Not only that, but the kids are amazing. With enough will, anyone can leave a positive impact on each client.

Kontras

Be open about extra training and career paths BTs can get into (SLP, OT, RBT, BCBA, etc.).

Pros

The kids were amazing. I loved them.

Kontras

It’s been a while since I worked there, but now after experiencing two different ABA centers, I feel like I have enough quantifiable data to comment on my experience. Working here stunted my professional development eons. The owner, Michelle, does not care about developing her staff professionally. She will often gaslight you if you bring valid concerns her way. She will say “why didn’t you approach me and talk to me about it” as though she isn’t the most unapproachable woman I have ever met. She has stopped SEVERAL of her BCBA in training’s supervision for a myriad of reasons that make no sense to everyone but her and the few people she is able to pawn. Do not choose this center as your first space to gain experience in ABA. There are many other great options.

Hi there, Yes! I do pause supervision of Trainees if their performance is below criterion and these areas are outlined within the Supervision Contract signed by all parties. It’s reviewed in a meeting, and the topics addressed are discussed previously at least 4 times prior to pausing. We use data on a daily basis to track everyone’s performance. For example, one expectation is for trainees and all therapists to be able to send in their schedule at the end of each day and to work their way through our levels systems to use the scheduling software autonomously. Over 1/3 of our staff (comprised of folks in undergrad, and graduate school) are on levels higher than 1 which is the first level. If the basic responsibilities for these documentations are not occurring on a daily basis we do pause supervision in the light that we do not want to continue to fill folks’ plates if they’re still missing the basics of the job. This all falls inline with the BACB Ethics, in taking on only the amount of work you can accomplish professionally. As far as being unapproachable, there are other professionals on the leadership team that could be sought out to receive training and advice on how to tackle this situation. I don’t quite follow the gaslighting statement with bringing valid concerns and stating I’m inapproachable. Were your concerns brought forward? We have an open door policy and there are other managers in the building. If concerns are ever not validated, there are others in the building who can mitigate if one’s ever feeling gaslit. I’m sorry you felt that way and we would have worked with you in order to solve the situation as we appreciate people sharing their concerns and address their topics. Unfortunately, without these concerns being brought to management attention, they cannot be resolved or addressed. We continue to wish you all the best in your next professional endeavor.
