One of the biggest cons is the owner’s choice of leadership, and the CIO says it all. He is not qualified to run a help desk, let alone be CIO. He does not understand hockey, and after 20 years in the wine industry, he still brings nothing useful to the table. What he lacks in competence, he makes up for with control issues, bottlenecks, and running to Bill whenever he is not treated like the center of every decision. He inserts himself into everything, slows down progress, and pulls the “privacy and governance” card the second he is challenged or left out. It is not leadership. It is control dressed up as authority. His stance on AI is exactly what you would expect from someone stuck in the past and threatened by anything modern. This company will keep losing ground as long as outdated leaders are protected, promoted, and allowed to confuse ego with expertise.
