The engineering teams effectively report to the sales team. Whenever a sales person asks for a new feature or product, the engineers are virtually required to deliver it as a new top priority. I think this is why most of the experienced technical leadership has left over the past few months. The only senior technical leadership on the team has no experience with software and firmware and is mostly focused on not upsetting the rest of the leadership team. This results in a constant flow of poorly conceived new projects with impossible deadlines.
