Pros
Great starter Job, Teaches alot about diabetes and the Med device industry. The Dexcom CGM SAVES Lives 100% and being able to bring light into peoples lives is amazing.
Kontras
When I first started at Dexcom a few years ago sharing what we knew about the system was beautiful because it brought light into people’s lives. Now because of how fast the company has grown and "promised" growth to its investors it is now not a place of work I recommend to anyone. The company is taking a very fast downward spiral. Stock has dropped in half of what it was because "We cannot deliver" product. Our very own CEO got on a companywide video chat and gave an example of this by saying “Well my son called me on Friday and said dad do you know how much money you just lost? He said it’s not about the money I just lost it’s about the product and getting it into the hands of the people who need it the most" Grant it he is right about getting it into the hands of the people who need it the most, but for a CEO to start off a companywide video chat talking about how much money he’s just lost is Pathetic. Now in the Sales Department we have some of our best Reps leaving because of the numbers that are now driven down onto each and every employee working here. People who work here value changing people’s lives for the better and now it is numbers numbers numbers. Quality is what you want in the med device world. The new Dexcom moto is now Quantity over quality. We used to be all excited to talk to Patients and show them the true benefits of the product, now it’s to see how fast we can get them on and off the phone. Sales are now doubling with the last two months of the year and the nation is barley hitting goal. Supervisors and getting yelled at in leaderships offices while we are trying to work and then they come out and tell us we need to increase our productivity. There is no motivation here at all. It’s all about the numbers and not the patient. The leadership is sadly destroying the Dexcom name by doing this. I currently love my job and i try to give all my Patients 100% of my attention but every day i am told that i need to make more calls and spend less time on the phone with patients and "Get them in and out" . It is impossible to hit the new goals by doing this. My Husband and i are now looking for other jobs now because i do not wish to work for a company who does not value there patients anymore.
