Kontras
Management consistently make grand promises but more often than not fail to follow through. Departments do not work cohesively together - It's team vs team where the buck is constantly passed. This was not always the case but is the product of poor management and team objectives not being aligned. Abuse is swept under the rug instead of effectively handled - staff are poorly looked after. Company has been purchased twice by large corporations. Resulting in poor culture and less company direction with each purchase. Poor customer service/technical delivery resulting in poor retention (including the inability to maintain a consistent level of service to long time customers). Salary in comparison to similar roles is not competitive. SD staff are not provided with all the tools required to effectively complete their job. New solutions are sold to clients but no training or documentation are provided to staff. Poor employee retention - able to attract good talent but not retain them. This is through poor care, lack of advancement options/career paths for staff. If you are a service desk engineer you're stuck as a service desk engineer. Not holding staff accountable - consistent underperformers are given a pass. Other staff are required to pick up the slack. Sales staff make sales without consulting technical resources. This results in unachievable goals or stretching technical teams to breaking point resulting in a degradation of services to other clients and incredibly stressed staff. Staff that genuinely care about the success of the business aren't nurtured. Long standing staff have to step up to pick up the slack for management that don't understand how their teams are run without any compensation resulting in burnt out and stressed technicians. Management style is "one size fits all" (or simply negligent).
